Payment thresholds: when your card is charged

By the Answerbid teamVerified 12 October 20262 min read

Short answer

Your saved card is charged when unpaid spend reaches the account's payment threshold, and any remaining balance is charged at month end. New accounts start with a low threshold that can rise automatically after successful payments. Advertisers and support can't change it.

Key facts

  • Each threshold charge creates its own invoice; equal amounts aren't duplicates
  • Thresholds may progress after two successful qualifying payments
  • Failed charges, disputes and chargebacks can pause increases
  • A threshold isn't a budget or a spend cap
  • Taxes can make a charge exceed the threshold

Questions

Can we set an account-wide spending limit?

Only postpaid invoice accounts can. Self-serve card accounts control spend through campaign budgets.
