Ads stopped after a failed payment

By the Answerbid teamVerified 12 October 20262 min read

Short answer

If a payment fails after you reach your threshold, ads may stop and campaigns, ad groups and ads can show "Not serving". OpenAI emails you. Update the payment method in Ads Manager; if the card keeps failing, contact the card issuer.

Fix

  1. Open Billing and update or replace the card
  2. Check the billing address matches the card
  3. Ask your bank whether a foreign-currency or merchant block applies
  4. Confirm campaigns return to "Serving"

Questions

Does a failed payment affect thresholds?

Yes. Failed charges can pause threshold increases.
