Short answer
Go to ads.openai.com, sign in with an OpenAI account tied to your work email, add your business details and logo, set up a billing profile and credit card, complete verification through Persona, and invite your team. Choose currency, time zone and country carefully: they can't be changed later.
Steps
- Sign in at ads.openai.com, or create an OpenAI account during sign-up
- Enter business name, website, logo and industry
- Choose country, currency and time zone (permanent)
- Create a billing profile: business name, invoice email, billing address
- Add a credit card
- Answer the verification questions in Persona
- Invite colleagues under Settings > Users > Invite
- Wait for account review: access is confirmed by email to the account creator
What blocks delivery
- No logo or account name: OpenAI says ads won't serve until this step is complete
- Missing billing profile or payment method
- Verification not finished
- Account review not approved: verification and review are separate steps
Who should create it
One account owner per business should create the advertiser account and then invite others. Agencies can't create accounts on a client's behalf; they are invited afterwards. One OpenAI login can access several ad accounts.
Questions
How long does review take?
Review runs in a rolling queue. Business verification can take up to 7 business days; contact Ads Support if it takes longer.
Can we use an invoice instead of a card?
Self-serve accounts use a credit card. Postpaid invoice terms are for eligible sales-managed advertisers.
Does applying twice speed it up?
No. OpenAI says duplicate applications don't speed up review.
