Choosing images for ChatGPT ads

By the Answerbid teamVerified 12 October 20262 min read

Short answer

Use a simple, relevant image that matches the title and copy. OpenAI advises against abstract or cluttered visuals. Technically, images must be square PNG or JPG files no larger than 1200 × 1200 pixels and publicly accessible.

What works

  • A clean product screenshot of the feature named in the title
  • A single clear object or scene
  • Your brand colours without small unreadable text

What to avoid

  • Abstract or cluttered visuals
  • Images that look like the ChatGPT interface (policy)
  • Graphic, sexual or misleading imagery
  • Before/after or results images you can't substantiate

Questions

Can the plugin create images?

The Ads Manager plugin can find or generate an image and preview the ad before upload; you confirm before anything is published.
