Short answer
Published fees from agencies running ChatGPT ads for B2B ranged from about $1,850 to $10,000 or more a month in September 2026, often with 6–12 month commitments. Media is paid on top: a fair ChatGPT test needs about $1,500 a month at the US minimum. A 90-day test therefore costs roughly $7,500–$35,000 all in, depending on the agency and budget. Compare quotes on expected cost per company that fits your profile, not on the fee alone.
How AI B2B ads agencies charge
| Model | How it works | Good for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flat monthly fee | Fixed fee for a defined scope | Tests and small to mid budgets | Vague scope; ask what’s included each month |
| Percentage of media | A share of ad spend, usually with a minimum fee | Large, stable budgets | An incentive to spend more; meaningless on small AI budgets |
| Tiered by spend | Fee steps up at spend thresholds | Programmes that will scale | Sudden jumps when you scale a winning question |
| Project or audit | One-off fee for a strategy or audit | Teams that will run ads themselves | No one owns results after hand-over |
| Performance-based | Fee tied to leads or meetings | Rare in this channel | Hard to define fairly while ChatGPT doesn’t charge per conversion |
For a new channel with small early budgets, a flat fee with a clear scope is usually the fairest model. A percentage of $1,500 a month of media doesn’t pay for the question research and tracking a B2B test needs.
What agencies publish
Few agencies publish prices. Powered by Search’s ranking of B2B ChatGPT ads agencies, updated 8 September 2026, lists these:
| Agency | Published starting fee | Commitment noted |
|---|---|---|
| Obility | From $1,850 a month (Guide); $5,450 (Summit) | 12 months for Summit |
| WebFX | $3,000–68,250 a month | 6 months |
| Lureon | $3,500 or $6,500 a month | Rolling monthly |
| Powered by Search | From $6,000 a month | – |
| Omniscient Digital | From $10,000 a month | – |
| AnswerBid | $990 (ads), $1,290 (visibility), $1,990 (both) | Monthly, no lock-in |
Most of these fees cover a wider paid-media or SEO scope, not only AI placements, so they aren’t like-for-like. Check each agency’s current terms; prices change.
What the fee should include
- Question research: the buyer questions, grouped by decision stage.
- Campaign build and management: ad groups, context hints, bids, weekly reallocation.
- Creative: new ads each month, written for AI placements.
- Tracking: pixel, Conversions API, UTMs, CRM fields.
- Company identification: named, scored companies, and who pays for the tool.
- Reporting: weekly, down to companies and pipeline.
Often extra: landing pages, AI visibility tracking and content, paid tools, and work on other channels. Ask for a line-by-line scope. Ours is on the pricing page.
The media you pay on top
ChatGPT’s minimum daily budget is $25, £15 or €15 per campaign, and a daily budget works as a weekly average. Two campaigns at the US minimum come to about $1,500 a month. Agencies report CPCs of about $3–5 and CPMs of $25–60; the one published B2B pilot paid $5.68 a click. We plan B2B clicks at $4.50–6.50. Media should be billed by the platform to your card, not marked up. Full cost breakdown.
Total cost of a 90-day test: four examples
| Set-up | Fee × 3 | Media × 3 | 90-day total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lean test, specialist ($990 fee, $1,500 media) | $2,970 | $4,500 | $7,470 |
| Standard test, specialist ($990 fee, $3,000 media) | $2,970 | $9,000 | $11,970 |
| Ads plus AI visibility ($1,990 fee, $3,000 media) | $5,970 | $9,000 | $14,970 |
| Mid-market agency ($6,000 fee, $5,000 media) | $18,000 | $15,000 | $33,000 |
At our planning range, $3,000 a month of media buys about 460–670 clicks and 50–75 identified companies that fit a typical profile. That gives you a way to compare quotes: divide the all-in cost by the fitting companies each proposal expects, and ask how they got the number.
Costs that don’t appear in the proposal
- Your team’s time: approvals, a weekly call, and sales following up identified companies. Budget two to four hours a week.
- Landing pages: one page per decision-stage question converts better than the homepage.
- Tools: identification, CRM enrichment and AI visibility tracking, if the agency doesn’t include them.
- Exit costs: if the agency owns the account or the data, leaving is expensive.
How to negotiate
- Ask for a 90-day test with a written decision rule, then monthly terms.
- Keep the ad account, pixel and data in your name from day one.
- Agree a media cap and who can change it.
- Ask whether the agency receives any rebate or commission from platforms or tools, and how it is disclosed.
- Agree the reporting format before you sign: companies and meetings, not only clicks.
Questions
Is a percentage-of-spend fee fair for AI B2B ads?
Rarely at the start. Early budgets are small and most of the work is research, creative and tracking, which doesn’t scale with spend. A flat fee is easier to judge.
Why can an agency fee be higher than the media budget?
In a new B2B channel, most of the value is in choosing the right questions, writing the ads and turning clicks into named accounts. Media is small at test stage. Judge the total against the companies and meetings it brings.
Do agencies get discounts on ChatGPT ads?
OpenAI doesn’t publish agency discounts. Media should be billed to your own card by the platform. Ask any agency directly about rebates or commissions.
What does AnswerBid charge?
ChatGPT B2B Ads is $990 a month, AI Visibility $1,290, and Complete (both) $1,990, monthly with no lock-in. Media is billed separately by the ad platform. Annual billing is 5% off. Pricing.
