Short answer
LinkedIn shows results by company in three places. The ads reporting API breaks impressions, clicks, spend and conversions down by member company. The Company Engagement Report in Campaign Manager adds organic engagement and website visits per company. Website Demographics shows aggregated visitor profiles from the Insight Tag. All three are company-level or aggregated: company values with fewer than 3 events are dropped, demographic metrics are approximate and arrive 12–24 hours late, and none of them names a person.
Three sources
| Source | What it shows | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Ads reporting by member company | Impressions, clicks, spend, conversions and engagement per company | Marketing API (adAnalytics) or Campaign Manager demographics |
| Company Engagement Report | Per company: members targeted, paid engagement, organic engagement with your Page, website visits from the Insight Tag, and a total engagement level | Campaign Manager |
| Website Demographics | Aggregated visitors by company, job title, function, seniority, industry, size and location | Campaign Manager, needs the Insight Tag |
Limits to know
- Top 100 per creative per day. Demographic breakdowns return the top 100 values for each creative for each day.
- Minimum 3 events. Company values with fewer than 3 events are dropped, and ads with too little engagement return none.
- Approximate. To protect members’ privacy, demographic metrics are approximate. Daily values won’t always add up to the period total.
- 12–24 hours late. Performance metrics are near real time; demographic ones arrive 12 to 24 hours later and are kept for two years.
- Not only your targets. Company results can include companies you didn’t target: people with two employers, job changes, audience expansion or parent companies.
- Website Demographics needs 300 visitors in a segment before it shows anything.
Join it with AI and CRM data
LinkedIn tells you which companies engaged on LinkedIn. It doesn’t tell you which of them came from an AI answer or a ChatGPT ad. Join the company-level LinkedIn numbers with your identified companies and your CRM by company domain, and judge three things: engaged accounts, return visits and pipeline. Questions
Does LinkedIn tell us who clicked our ad?
No. Reporting is by company or aggregated demographics, never by person.
Why don’t LinkedIn company numbers match our CRM?
They are approximate, drop companies with fewer than 3 events, arrive 12–24 hours late, and can include companies you didn’t target. Compare totals over full periods, not single days.
Is the Company Engagement Report free?
Yes. LinkedIn made it free for all Campaign Manager users when it launched in October 2020.
