Editing ChatGPT ads campaigns: what you can and can't change

By the Answerbid teamVerified 12 October 20262 min read

Short answer

Use inline edits for quick changes such as budgets, copy, images or pausing, and bulk edits for larger changes such as context hints or landing pages across many ads. The objective can't be changed, a daily budget can't go back to a campaign total, and bulk-uploaded context hints replace the existing list.

Locked or one-way

  • Objective: create a new campaign or clone
  • Budget type: campaign total → daily is permanent
  • Conversion event: fixed at creation
  • Currency, time zone, country: fixed at account level

Bulk edit rules

  • Keep the existing ID in a row to update it
  • Export a fresh file first if others work in the account
  • Supply the full context hint list, not just new ones

Questions

Does editing an ad send it back to review?
